Do your require an appointment, and do you accept insurance?

Appointments are not strictly necessary. You can often receive testing on a walk-in basis. It is advisable, however, to call and make sure that your particular tests or clinic services do not require an appointment, as certain test providers are not always on-staff. ProHealth doesn’t file with any insurance companies for our services. You must pay for clinic services at the time of service. 

Is there a physician on-staff at the clinic?

ProHealth has two medical doctors who are always available for consultation with the licensed nurse practitioners and physicians’ assistants on-staff at each of our clinics.

Does the clinic see children?

ProHealth sees patients aged two years old and above.

Does your facility perform DOT physicals?

Yes, we partner with DOT certified test providers. However, these providers are not always on-staff, so appointments must be made for physicals.

I own my own company. How do I enroll in a random drug-testing program for my employees?

At ProHealth, we offer DOT and Non-DOT random drug testing management. Once you have decided which type of test panel and method you want to use, we will require your company billing information to setup an account. We offer testing on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis and use your specifications for test selection each time. We need updated employee rosters for each drawing period.  You will work with the random program administrator to manage your program.

I would like to begin pre-employment drug testing for all of the new hires to my company. How does that work?

Once you provide your company’s billing information and decide which test panel you would like to use, you can use any of our locations for testing purposes. Appointments are not necessary. All of our offices will be provided with your chosen testing and reporting methods, and your employees will need only to provide us with the name of your company and to know if they are DOT or Non-DOT. Our collectors will then explain the collection process to each donor and properly deliver results.

What is the difference between a rapid test and a lab-based test, and which one can I use for DOT?

Rapid testing is done onsite in the ProHealth office and generally takes from 5 to 10 minutes to collect and actually test the specimen. Negative test results can be reported immediately. Non-negative test results can be sent to the lab for further testing to confirm the results. The DOT does not accept rapid testing. For lab-based testing, samples are collected in our offices and then shipped to a SAMHSA-certified lab  for testing. In the case of lab-based testing, negative results are usually received in 1 to 2 business days. Non-negative results can take as few as 2 to 3 days but sometimes take as much as a week.

What is the difference between 5-panel and 10-panel drug tests, and which do most companies prefer to use? Is one more accurate or superior?

5-panel drug tests detect the presence of substances such as cocaine, THC, PCP, opiates, and amphetamines. A 10-panel test, meanwhile, detects the same five drugs but also test for propoxyphene, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methaqualone, and methadone as well. For that reason, most companies prefer 10-panel drug tests. By cost comparison, the 10-panel test is only marginally more expensive but provides invaluable assurance that employees are drug-free.

Do you conduct STD testing, and do I need a doctor’s orders to have STD tests run?

At ProHealth, we can test for most STDs separately, but we do not conduct STD panels. The only STD test requiring a doctor’s orders to run is an HIV test, but if you are a ProHealth patient or have a physician or program where test results can be sent, the test can be run without official request from a doctor.

Do you perform genetic testing?

We can perform genetic testing but require the completion of a consent form by both a patient and their doctor.
