FAQ's

Question
What is ProHealth?

Answer
ProHealth specializes in providing Northwest Florida with affordable health services. Our team offers low-cost lab work for people without health insurance, or those who have high deductibles. We also do DNA paternity testing, adult, travel and flu immunizations, occupational, drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit testing, DOT and employment physicals, tuberculosis screenings, and health fairs. ProHealth welcomes walk-ins for most services!

Question
What is ProHealth Medical Care?

Answer
With two locations in Gulf Breeze and Pensacola, ProHealth Medical Care offers primary care and minor emergency care. We provide affordable lab work, school and sports physicals, woman's exams, immunizations, drug testing, DOT and employment physicals, and more. Office visits start at only $65 and we are a direct pay practice.

Question
Are ProHealth and ProHealth Medical Care the same?

Answer
No. ProHealth Medical Care is a division of ProHealth, offering primary and minor emergency care to patients. Both of our ProHealth Medical Care offices located in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze offer all ProHealth services, but not all of our ProHealth locations contain a ProHealth Medical Care. This is similar to how some CVS stores have a Minute Clinic, and some do not.

Question
Why don't you accept insurance?

Answer
Vivian Krumel opened the doors to Professional Health Examiners with the vision to positively impact the wellness of her clients. Insurance regulations and constantly changing Medicare laws interfere with a medical company's ability to do this. We would rather spend time with our patients than filling out paperwork and learning new rules and regulations for constantly changing insurance and government policies.
While we understand that health insurance is necessary to protect against financially catastrophic illness, we also realize that routine healthcare should be affordable, convenient, accessible and of quality. The goal is to keep patients healthy before preventable disease/illness occurs.
One of our providers explained, "Successful, quality healthcare for people without insurance is gathering like-minded healthcare partners to support our patients. It is not always easy but somehow our successes continue to grow. One of our core values at ProHealth Medical Care is ‘Excellence: Good enough isn't. Always deliver exceptional quality in all I do.' Getting patients what they need is primary. Whether it is offering coupons for affordable medicine, finding medical equipment or a referral for a specialist, make it happen – and make it happen without insurance!"

Question
How does this work?

Answer
We provide you with medical care and you pay for the services provided. We will go over our prices with you and you will know what to expect to pay before any services are rendered. Payment at the time of your office visit is required and we will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company if you have health insurance. If your insurance allows it, you can send it to them for reimbursement, or to have the amount applied to your deductible.

Question
How is this good for patients?

Answer
By taking the insurance company and the government out of the process, the medical provider works for you. You can relax in knowing that the choices offered for your medical needs are not influenced by insurance companies or any other organization. We respond to your needs, not the insurance company's needs. We are proudly able to spend less time on paperwork and more time caring for the patient!

Question
Which patients will benefit from this?

Answer
This type of medical care will benefit many different types of patients. People who have no insurance or people with moderate to high deductibles will save money on medical care in our offices. Since we treat minor emergencies, patients will avoid long waits in the E.R. Also, our average patient will save 50-75% on lab work fees.

Question
Can I get reimbursed by the insurance company?

Answer
That depends on your insurance company. We are happy to provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider. You should check with your individual insurance company to find out. We do not make any guarantee that you will be reimbursed.

Question
Can I get reimbursed from Medicare?

Answer
No. We are not a provider for Medicare and patients may not submit bills for reimbursement.

Question
What does a ProHealth Medical Care woman's exam entail?

Answer
Our woman's exam is a yearly exam, including a pap smear, a breast exam and a pelvic exam. It is performed by staff that is specifically trained in this area. It is currently $130. It is crucial for women to schedule this exam annually; therefore we take pride in providing it at an affordable price.

Question
How can you charge a fraction of what medical offices do and still stay in business?

Answer
Insurance companies and the government have interfered with the prices of medical services causing overly-inflated prices. Doctors are forced to charge far more than they ever intended to receive. Part of the bill goes to offset the administrative fees of cooperating with insurance companies, and allow for mandatory write off amounts.
We chose to cut out the middle man, and by doing so, we save a lot of time, confusion and overhead. We drop our rates dramatically because we know that we will actually be paid what we charge (like a hairdresser, bricklayer, or plumber).

Question
Why must I pay at the time of the visit instead of you sending me a bill?

Answer
We require patients to pay at the time of the office visit simply because this helps to keep our costs down, which we in turn, pass savings on to our patients. It is similar to the way you pay for your groceries when you check out at the supermarket, for your meal when dining at a restaurant, or for your oil change at the mechanic's.
